Calling all BRIDES!

I don't usually do this, but feel I need to at least once before the end of the summer! ( A shameless plug :) )

I was privileged to participate with some other wonderful Mary Kay consultants this past Sunday at a Bridal Expo in Oak Brook, IL.  This is the second Expo I've attended, and it reminds me EVERY TIME how much I enjoy working with brides!!!  What a special time in a gal's life!  I just love being even a small part of her special event by offering a great skin care line to get the skin on her face and body soft, smooth, and flawless.  I have done makeup for over 25 weddings and I never get tired of it!  It really is one of my favorite parts of what I do as a representative of Mary Kay.

If you are a bride, or you know someone about to walk down the aisle, please consider getting yourself, or her, prepared for that special day with the Bridal Pampering Session (always FREE!) Which includes a luxurious facial, microdermabrasion treatment, Satin Hands softening treatment, and a makeup consultation for not only the bride, but up to 6 of the bridesmaids and family members.  Truly enjoy this special time in your life and look your absolute BEST!

Okay, so that is the plug. It wasn't so bad, was it?

Contact me by phone or email to set up a consultion at 773.678.8978  or email   lesleynewlin@hotmail.com

Hope to see you soon!

Happy Love Day!

I just wanted to write today to express a concern I had earlier this week, specifically on the day we as American's celebrate the anniversary of our independence. ( the 4th of July of course!)

This day is supposed to be a day of celebration, a day we can give complete strangers a look on a public street or fireworks show, communicating we may not know each other, but the fact we are all living in this beautiful country with so many freedoms and privileges, there is so much to be thankful for!

My concern was hearing on the news the night of the 4th, that several shootings and fatalities occured in Chicago during the day's 4th of July celebrations.

It really hurts my heart when I hear this, as I am sure it hurts you as well. This same feeling comes over me every time I hear about an innocent child being killed anywhere, but something about a day like this really points to how some of our priorities and perceptions of reality are so very skewed.

I just want to pray and ask we all pray together, that we continue to make progress in taking care of this ongoing problem, and that we can one day truly live in this country as one.

That being said, I hope you had a joyful and safe holiday with your friends and family, and hope we see each other soon!

God bless and God bless America!

Celebrate the Stars and Stripes!

Happy Fourth of July everyone!

As one of the biggest days of the year approaches (tomorrow!), a lot of stress can fall on us to get to the family events and to many of the local festivals.

If you feel like making a bit of a statement on a day where we are celebrating the red white and blue, think about trying out a deep red on those smoochers of yours!

Have a safe and beautiful 4th!

God Bless America!

Win with your Skin - Hollywood Secrets - Day 5

Avoid the Sun: The first step is good old prevention. As the saying goes, "an once of prevention is worth a pound of cure". In the case of freckles, spots and uneven skin colors this means getting out of the sun or using sunscreen. The Center for Disease Control (cdc.gov) recommends a sunscreen that blocks UV-A and UV-B rays and is SPF 15 at least. The Truth Behind SPF Ratings Interestingly, the SPF in sunscreen refers to the blockage of UV-B rays, which are the rays that cause sunburn. However, it's the UV-A rays that get under the skin and are responsible for wrinkles and skin cancer.

The best way to block UV-B rays is to look for a sunscreen with avobenzone or Mexoyl which block these rays. It's All About the UV-B. The absolute best skin protection is to cover up and avoid the sun as much as possible by wearing a hat and something to cover exposed areas and staying in the shade when outdoors or on the beach. Now you know why spray tans are so popular with the Hollywood set!
Stay protected out there!

One more thing....

Sunday is Love Day!

My Mission: A Mission Statement

Today, as your Insider coach, I wanted to relay a concept I heard this week that I thought was very interesting and very impactful for you AND your family.

We have all heard of "Mission Statements" for businesses, but we should also create them for ourselves, and for our family!

While it is briefly useful to think about what we would say, it is 100 times more useful if we write it down!!!

I do not have mine down yet, still working, but I would have to include that being intentional about what I do and say, would be included.

What would you say in your Mission statement? What would you include in your family's mission statement?

I will have my statement later in the week. Look forward to seeing what is important to you!

Have a blessed day!

Win with Your Skin - Hollywood Secrets

Hollywood Beauty Secrets - Day 2

As we all know, most Hollywood actresses and actors undergo minor, and sometimes major, surgical treatments to make the skin on their faces look firmer. They make use of various injectables like hyaluronics, and acid fillers like Restylane and Juvederm,

If you are thinking about getting any of these procedures done, make sure that you approach a genuine & experienced professional (Going with someone who was referred to you by someone you know and trust is a major plus.) These injectable procedures can cost any where between $ 600 & $ 1,000 per needle. Their results last up to 6 months or so.

If you are not a Hollywood starlet, and don't have thousands of dollars budgeted for skin treatments, but need some help, let me know!

Out the Door Quote

Have a great day!
