It's Beginning to look a lot like Christmas, already?

Every year, you hear about the Christmas season getting long and longer, and depending on who you ask, that may or may not be a bad thing.

For some, it infringes upon other holidays and other life events that people feel are being over looked because of the time of year it falls in, but for some, it is a very welcomed guest. To this point actually, there was a study done sometime earlier this year, about people going on vacation. The study showed that people enjoyed their time anticipating the vacation, about as much as the vacation it self, and once it was over, the drop off from enjoyment was quite steep. This must be why people like to start thinking about and celebrating Christmas well before the 25th.

I guess I am not taking a side here, but have become more understanding of why their are two different sides to this never ending debate and why they feel the way they do. Next up, I would like to ask you who are you voting for for president and why? Just kidding, not going to go there!

The Perfect Halloween Costume for only $500,000!

While most parents have their children's costume bought and ready to go by now, that is if you have small children, some may have been to busy and just haven't had the time yet. For those who haven't, you are in luck. There are lots of very popular costumes out there that you will see pop up year after year that you think maybe to dress yourself or your little ones the next year. Some of the costumes that come to mind are ghosts, super heros, princesses, various animals, and  the "Super Mario Brothers" just to name a few. Another very popular costume, for girls, is Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz. It was mentioned on the news today that the original dress that Judy Garland wore in the movie is going on auction for $500,000! Not sure about your bank account,  but I will have to pass this time around. Plus, It was noticed that on the dress was a pretty good sized stain. It's too bad that in real life you can't take back a stained dress or shirt to the store and make a profit! Having a 1 and a 4 year old, I would be one rich mommy!

Vitamin D Alert!

Just a reminder ladies. That we need to start providing our bodies more Vitamin D starting now due to the lowering rates of Ultra violet light that our bodies need to produce the vitamin. Whether you take supplements or drink milk, it's important to keep up with this vital vitamin. It will do a body good!

Happy Fall 2012!

It's official, we're here! It sure is a task trying to explain to a four year old why the leaves on the trees change color in the fall. Short of calling it "magic", it is an interesting conversation to say the least!

Speaking of the outdoors, one of my team members and friends, Mandi Pelot came over last week to take our pictures of our family outside among the fall landscapes. She is so talented, so if you ever need anyone to take a family portrait, or other photo shoot, she is your gal! The pictures came out great, but I think one of our favorites was of Bennett, standing at the front door, with his pants hanging down at his ankles. He's at that age where 12 month clothes are barely fitting, but 18 months are WAY too big. So needless to say, we went with the 12 months for the family photos!

I am not a big Pinterest user, but I have to say, that a lot of what I see posted on Facebook from Pinterest is amazing! It seems that we may never run out of new ideas on how to decorate for each of the major holidays, or how to decorate a pumpkin. Its was actually funny last week, because the neighborhood kids saw our old pine cones in the garage that we use for winter decoration, and wanted to throw them around. Alec saw them and explained to them that they were "fragile" and were strictly for decorations. You should have seen the look on their face when he said "decorations". I just don't know what we'll do when we lose those 5 year old pinecones ;).

October is a little special for me personally, because it is my birthday. We are not going to do anything big for my birthday this year, but wanted to ask everyone, who lives in the area, if you have any special places you love that doesn't cost an arm and a leg! We have tried a few new places for special occasions the last few years, but have been a little let down. You know when you have that place you like, that you are comfortable with and go for special occasions? Well we have that place too, but we still want to try and sample what else the area has to offer. At the end of the meal though lately, we have been saying, we should have gone to Frankie's (in Tinley Park). If you haven't gone, we highly recommend it!

Speaking of my birthday, I want to offer some gifts to YOU! I want to give 20% off orders over $35 - from now up until my b-day (October 12th) and on my birthday, 35% off orders over $35. (If you are wondering what all the 35's are about, it's a clue. ;) ) If you book a party before the 12th, you will receive $150 in free product!! (offer extended for a limited time!!) Book your party today on my Facebook page at www.facebook.com/MaryKayLesleyK

or to place regular orders......

I will leave it at, but before I go, Aidan wanted to make sure I didn't leave him out. He wanted to let you know what he is going to be for Halloween, but he wants to give you some clues to see if you can guess what he's going to be!!! One of his favorite shows is Blue's Clues, a show on Nickelodeon, and Blue (the dog) gives 3 clues to everyone to guess the mystery. See if you can figure it out!

Here are Aidan's 3 Clues:

1) Orange
2) Nature lover
3) A little hairy

Happy Guessing!!! ( post your guesses on my Facebook page!)

Smiles,

Lesley (Alec, Aidan, and Bennett)
